Description
The Assistant Teacher will play a vital role in supporting the lead teacher, implementing age-appropriate curriculum, and creating a positive and engaging learning environment for young children.
The assistant teacher must have a passion for early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the lead teacher and other staff members.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to implement the daily lesson plans and activities
- Assist in creating a stimulating and developmentally appropriate learning environment
- Assist with the supervision of children during playtime, meals, and other activities
- Provide support in managing the classroom, including helping with transitions, organizing materials, and maintaining a tidy and safe space
- Assist in observing and documenting children's developmental progress and behaviour
- Contribute to maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of each child's achievements and areas for improvement
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom
- Follow health and safety protocols and respond promptly to any safety concerns
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education
- Collaborate with the lead teacher in ongoing training and learning initiatives
Requirements
- NQF level 4 Certificate in ECD
- 1 year experience
